Why SEO is so important for us
I've recently written about how our English pages jumped in search results due to a move to a top level domain. And this actually changed everything.
Only during the last few days we got backlinks from Reddit, the Telegraph, and Medium, just because people who wanted to point others to a hashtag, googled it, and found our page first. The good thing is: with an increasing number of backlinks, our rankings also will get better, and many publishers will recall us when writing about something related to hashtags. It's an upward spiral.
Many people think you shouldn't rely on Google alone (this is why we're putting so much effort in channels like Twitter, as well), but for us it's a real multiplier: one reddit link alone brought us 3000 visitors yesterday.
